How to help our children resolve conflicts

Conflicts are part of daily life Depending on the level of maturity that a person has, there can be different reactions to the same problem.

In this way, people with creativity and a good sense of humor will try to dialogue and find a solution that is good for everyone, while those who are basically aggressive and uncreative will worsen the situation by adding more controversy and misunderstandings.

To help children resolve their differences with others, the following is recommended:

– First of all, try to calm him down . Take a deep breath and relax. If he or she is still on edge or in a bad mood, let a few moments pass and when she feels better, communicate with him or her and listen to her version of what happened. Then, get him to think about how he could have avoided it and accept the consequences responsibly.

– Don’t defend him in everything he does. Overprotecting your child can cause other types of problems. If you have committed a fault you must pay in some way. Apologizing is always good because it allows you to develop humility. It would be advisable to find a meeting point with the person with whom the problem has occurred.

– Try to downplay the importance of those adverse situations that do not have it. That is to say, children can often exaggerate their visions and suffer more than they should. Let him see that it’s not a big deal and that a solution to the problem will be found.

– Invite them to put themselves in the other person’s shoes. In this way he will lower his guard and will naturally tend to seek dialogue.

– Firmly sanctions those behaviors in which the boy or girl has caused harm to others. Don’t let them think that just because they are right they can attack others. If necessary, ask him to apologize to the injured person and ask him to take an interest in her recovery and health.

– Don’t let me leave things unresolved. If a problem has arisen, it is very important to solve it and have a firm intention to ensure that it does not occur again. Mistakes can be made, but not always the same mistake.

Situations of disharmony can be caused by multiple reasons, the most common being personality or behavioral disorders that do not allow agreements between people, predisposing them to perfectly avoidable behaviors of aggression and humiliation .

Conflicts and differences with others are common in human relationships, but the most important thing is to learn from a young age the best way, in an intelligent and reasoned way , to resolve them and, above all, to forget and move on.
